Steff and Ste’s Liverpool wedding at Christ church, Bootle and Hard Days Night hotel…
Steff and Ste’s wedding saw my return to fabulous beatles inspired Hard Days Night hotel here in Liverpool almost a year to the day.
We started the day at Steff’s parents house in Crosby before setting off on the ‘Magical Mystery Bus’ to the spectacular Christ Church in Bootle for their wedding service. The weather was not on our side so we made our way straight to Hard Days Night for the rest of the celebrations.
Steff, Ste and their guests had a relaxed and fun day to a beatles backtrack and had their first dance performed by a beatles tribute band.
Here are just a few of my favorite photos from their day…
Andrew and Sian’s wedding, Rhoscolyn, Anglesey

I really enjoyed shooting Andrew and Sian’s wedding this weekend in beautiful Rhoscolyn, Holyhead, North Wales. A really friendly couple which was reflected in their friends and family too.
The rustic church didn’t have the capacity for all their guests so some had to wait in the local pub instead.
Standing on the beach for the photograph above, Andrew said “Rob, we’d like one of those gold award winning images” so no pressure then
Andrew and Sian had a great live band playing which I enjoyed staying for, you can’t beat great music while you work!
They are currently on Honeymoon in South Africa but said they would be checking my blog when they found an internet connection. Have a great time guys and I’ll see you when you get back.

Carl and Victoria’s wedding at st Nicholas, Hale Village

I really enjoyed shooting Carl and Victoria’s wedding they are such a fun easy to get on with couple.
The weather threatened rain all day but luckily we didn’t see any, there was only got a light spattering later in the evening.
This was unusual in that they got married at st Nicholas in Hale Village but had arranged to take photographs at st Nicholas on Liverpool centre. We had great views of the city from st Nich’s and the nearby Arctic Hotel.
This was a lovely wedding and a pleasure to photograph.

Our wedding at Thornton Manor, Wirral…
I’ve been really touched by so many people asking me about Lou and I’s wedding on Monday and wishing us well I have decided to write a bit about it here.
My brides and grooms always pass comment on how quick the day goes so I was prepared and expected it to go fast but not this fast! They also tell me it was the best days of their lives and how fantastic it was, again we are no exception, nothing could have been any better – it was perfect!
As a photographer myself it’s really weird to be on the other side of a lens, one of the most repeated comments from my couples is “when did you take that? we never noticed you were there” this is important to me and something I strive to achieve even down the clothes I wear including the shoes that make no noise when I walk across wooden or stone floors. Our photographer was also low key and far less noticeable than guests with cameras, talking of which….
…We had requested guests leave their cameras at home and just enjoy the day, mainly because I know first hand how many shots are missed or ruined by people with their cameras by being totally unaware they have literally stepped in front of me. Professional wedding photographers wouldn’t bring a camera to a wedding they were a guest at anyway, mainly out of respect.
I won’t be able to post any of our official photographs here for copyright reasons, which is cool but I will be taking some ‘love my dress’ pictures with Lou which I will blog in the coming weeks. There is another account of our day from my good friend and fellow photographer Paul Thurlow you can see here.
Just back from a few days in Barcelona and now back in the UK ready for next weekends wedding. It was good to get back in the gym, I was having withdrawal symptoms having not been for a whole week, my fitness is important to me and the work I do.
Michael and Kimberley’s Burley in Wharfedale wedding and Oakwood Hall reception, Bingley

With Michael being a professional ballet dancer and Kimberley being a ballet teacher, good posture and graceful movement were always going to be the order of the day at their wedding in Burley in Wharfedale.
Kimberley spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids in Headingley before making the trip to church.
It was a glorious sunny day for them allowing their guests to enjoy Oakwell Hall’s beautiful gardens and the scenic surrounding area.
Here are a few of my favorites from their day.

As good as the weather was, it was too much of a temptation to take some photographs indoors too, Oakwell Hall is just as stunning inside as it is out.

Paul and Megans Manchester wedding, Cloud 23, the Hilton and Didsbury House Hotel reception

Paul and Megan’s wedding was held 23 Floors up behind glass in the fabulous Cloud 23 bar inside the Manchester Hilton. This was one wedding the weather never had a chance of spoiling, in fact the storm clouds have made for some stunning photographs.
Paul and Megan had a relaxed morning geting ready at Didsbury House Hotel before Paul made his way to the Hilton on a fabulous classic red bus leaving Megan to arrive in luxurious style by limousine with her 6 bridesmaids.
The ceremony took place over looking the city which is no place to be if you suffer from vertigo or are scared of heights – personally, I loved it!
We stayed at the Hilton a couple of hours before heading back to the Didsbury House Hotel on that very cool red bus for the wedding breakfast and evening entertainment.
Here are a few of my favorites from their day.

Paul and Sue’s Wirral wedding at Christ Church, Barnton and reception at Sheldrakes

After a week of changeable weather Paul and Sue were blessed with a gorgeous day for their wedding at Christ Church, Barnton on the Wirral. With the reception was at Sheldrakes, Heswall, Wirral.
Paul and Sue were great fun to be around I had been really looking forward to photographing their day and it was a joy to be there.
Here are a few of my favorite photographs from their day….
A close moment between friends.
Sue puts her earrings in.
Sue arrives at Christ Church, Barnton Wirral.

Then back down the aisle together as Mr and Mrs, before taking a few shots outside the church.

Paul’s dad lends him his stunning classic MG to drive to the reception at Sheldrakes, Heswall (you really had to hear this car, gorgeous!!).
Speeches were on the terrace overlooking the banks of the river Dee.

Thanks again for a great day and choosing me to be your wedding photographer.

Paul and Louise’s wedding at Holy Cross church, Woodchurch & Inglewood Manor reception

And they call this work? It was way too much fun being Paul and Louise’s wedding photographer! From the super cool convertable beetle car, dancing down the aisle, Paul’s mad socks, playing cricket on the lawn at Inglewood Manor, to having a bounce on the kids bouncy castle (impressed by Paul’s sumersault) there was never a dull moment. Here are a few of my favorites from the day…

Andrew and Kate’s wedding at the Racquet club, Liverpool

What can I say? I knew from the first time I met Andrew and Kate what a fun wedding this would be and I was not disappointed! I hatched this idea months before when they told me they were both qualified divers, and were going to honeymoon in Belize, I think they had been looking forward to the photography as much as me and were game for anything as you can see? It was a relaxed atmosphere at this intimate wedding at the Racquet Club in Liverpool I also think it might just have been the loudest wedding I have photographed too.

Alan and Maria’s Belle Epoque wedding, Knutsford

It was an absolute pleasure to shoot such a relaxed wedding as Alan and Maria’s at Belle Epoque in Knutsford. I met Alan and Maria at Craig and Annie’s wedding last year and they asked me to shoot theirs not long after. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

I believe, everyone's wedding should be an amazing fun filled day remembered by the photography not 'because' of it. With this in mind I have developed a unique approach to weddings that couples and their guests both love.
I have created my own mix of reportage, traditional, contemporary and fashion photography. Reportage photography captures the real emotion of real moments as they happen in a way a traditional photography style can't and has no impact on you or your guests, most of the time people are unaware of being photographed and this is why they have a quality unmatched by any other method of wedding photography. What I bring to the mix and what reportage alone lacks, is the magic and sparkle found in glossy fashion magazines.
My unique mix of styles creates stunning photographs for you to treasure forever, with little impact on the enjoyment of your wedding day.
