Winter wedding
Steff and Ste’s Liverpool wedding at Christ church, Bootle and Hard Days Night hotel…
Steff and Ste’s wedding saw my return to fabulous beatles inspired Hard Days Night hotel here in Liverpool almost a year to the day.
We started the day at Steff’s parents house in Crosby before setting off on the ‘Magical Mystery Bus’ to the spectacular Christ Church in Bootle for their wedding service. The weather was not on our side so we made our way straight to Hard Days Night for the rest of the celebrations.
Steff, Ste and their guests had a relaxed and fun day to a beatles backtrack and had their first dance performed by a beatles tribute band.
Here are just a few of my favorite photos from their day…
Jess and Jay’s striking winter wedding in Halifax…

Last weekend saw me returning to my home county of Yorkshire to photograph Jess and Jay’s wedding in Halifax. I’ve known Jess’s father for several years through my commercial photography work and it was a real honor that he recommended me to shoot something as important as his daughters wedding.
I took in instant like to Jess and Jay they are such a friendly, couple and I share many interests with them so knew Saturday was going to be a blast – I wasn’t wrong! I was made so welcome, I felt like a guest with a camera than a hired professional.
Jess is my first bride with red hair, I do hope she’s not the last, she looked amazing!
Here are a few of my favorite photos from their day…

James and Elizabeth’s Manchester wedding

James and Elizabeth’s delightful winter wedding saw me back in Manchester this weekend.
We had a lovely day starting with Elizabeth’s bridal preparations at the City Inn Manchester before heading out to the spectacular St. John the Evangelist cathedral for their service.
We came out of St. John’s to be greeted by the forecast torrential rain not that James and Elizabeth were going to let that dampen their spirits or put a hold on the planned shoot around the industrial area near the Castlefield rooms where they were having their wedding breakfast. I love photographing winter weddings, they bring many challenges but so rewarding with their distinctive rich look.
Here are a few of my favorites from their wedding…

Michael and Kimberley’s Burley in Wharfedale wedding and Oakwood Hall reception, Bingley

With Michael being a professional ballet dancer and Kimberley being a ballet teacher, good posture and graceful movement were always going to be the order of the day at their wedding in Burley in Wharfedale.
Kimberley spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids in Headingley before making the trip to church.
It was a glorious sunny day for them allowing their guests to enjoy Oakwell Hall’s beautiful gardens and the scenic surrounding area.
Here are a few of my favorites from their day.

As good as the weather was, it was too much of a temptation to take some photographs indoors too, Oakwell Hall is just as stunning inside as it is out.

Stephen and Sara’s Valentines day wedding at St Barnabas church and reception at Radisson hotel Liverpool

After a week of snow and rain Stephen and Sarah were blessed with the most perfect weather for their Valentines day wedding at the stunning St. Barnabus church on Penny Lane.

Although no one should have to work on their wedding day, on this occasion the grooms profession as a dentist was needed for some emergency crown repair for his mum otherwise there would have been no big smiles from her on the day.
On to the Radisson SAS in the centre, yet another stunning Liverpool venue for the reception. I left them to party after capturing their first dance.
Here are a few more photographs from their day.

Robert and Nichola’s New Years Wedding at the Beatles themed hotel, Hard Days Night in Liverpool

As an adopted Liverpool’er, photographing Robert and Nichola’s wedding in Hard Days Night hotel with John, Paul, George and Ringo watching from the walls felt as much Liverpool as photographing at Tower Bridge did London.
Nichola just oozes style and fashion so it was no surprise she was drawn to my my fashion based shooting style which suited both her and this stunning venue perfectly.

I knew from the moment I met Nichola this was going to be a fun filled and glam wedding and I wasn’t wrong! I was greeted into the Lennon penthouse suite by Niccola and her infectious smile tempting me with champagne

The ceremony was held in Hard Days Night Hotel’s intimate chapel.

An entertaining set of speeches ended my time with Nichola and Robert, time for me to have my own new years celebrations with Lou.

Happy new year Nichola and Robert!! Thanks for the Champagne Nic x

Keith and Emma’s, Christmas wedding in Manchester

Keith and Emma had a frosty but dry December afternoon wedding in St Lukes Church, Salford before heading to the Castlefield Rooms in Manchester city centre for their reception.
Compliments to father John for the most original wedding service ever, he took his job of making them united very seriously… Manchester United that is!!! Both Keith and Emma sat through their service wearing football scarfs and being a photographer from Liverpool didn’t go unnoticed, haha!
Then onto the Castlefield Rooms, Manchester as the light started to fail, for some serious partying.

Ant and Joys winter wedding at the Barge, Battersea

If anyone ever suited their name, JOY was one of those people. I first talked to Joy about her and Ant’s photography over two years ago and she made it plain no one else would do, I was flattered by her faith in my work and think she has been rewarded by a beautiful set of images.

Chris and Andrea’s wedding the Old Bell, Malmesbury

I really enjoyed shooting this fun filled winter wedding for Chris and Andrea at the Old Bell in the picturesque village of Malmesbury, Wiltshire. It was a late afternoon ceremony in this cozy venue and the partying went into the night. This truly is a stunning venue and a great place to photograph in.

Kevin and Norma’s Tower Bridge wedding, London

South African born, Australian groom marries Mexican bride, in London and chooses this Yorkshire photographer who lives in Liverpool on the recommendation of a photographer in Spain – you can’t make this stuff up! International baby, yeah!
This was one fun couple, I had way too much fun photographing Kevin and Norma’s wedding at Tower Bridge this weekend. There was always a smile or a mad face to be photographed at this intimate and friendly wedding.
And a very bracing November afternoon didn’t sway Norma from walking the entire length of the bridge in her sleeveless dress without a coat to get the photos she wanted.
I love my job and the people I meet doing it.

I believe, everyone's wedding should be an amazing fun filled day remembered by the photography not 'because' of it. With this in mind I have developed a unique approach to weddings that couples and their guests both love.
I have created my own mix of reportage, traditional, contemporary and fashion photography. Reportage photography captures the real emotion of real moments as they happen in a way a traditional photography style can't and has no impact on you or your guests, most of the time people are unaware of being photographed and this is why they have a quality unmatched by any other method of wedding photography. What I bring to the mix and what reportage alone lacks, is the magic and sparkle found in glossy fashion magazines.
My unique mix of styles creates stunning photographs for you to treasure forever, with little impact on the enjoyment of your wedding day.
