I’ve known friends and fellow wedding photographers Rob and Sarah for many years. Rob and Sarah are highly respected in the wedding photography industry so it was a real honour to be asked to photograph their wedding at Avoncroft Museum.

After the fun of their engagement  shoot I was really looking forward to shooting their unique wedding at this equally unique venue.

Like me, Rob and Sarah see many wedding each year they wanted something totally different. So they themed their day around their excellent ‘the Who’ tribute band, from Sarah’s knee length dress with cerise trim to Rob’s 60′s styled outfit and the mods target styled button holes. This was also the first wedding with the bride and groom’s dogs actually at the ceremony (had to watch I didn’t fall over them).

It all started the night before where I went out for a meal and a few quiet ones with Rob and the gang whilst Lou spent the evening with Sarah and the girls. I got Sarahs in the morning and after having a quick chat set to work capturing her bridal preparations. It was obvious I was shooting a photographers wedding as its one of the tidiest rooms (along with my sister in laws last year) I’ve seen a bride get ready in. Sarah’s dress was awesome, so striking with its cerise net trim. Once Sarah was in her dress I made my way to Avoncroft Museum to catch up with Rob and introduce myself to the ‘notorious’ registrars they have in this part of the country.

Sarah arrived at Avoncroft Museum in style in a classic, white convertible VW Beetle in matching big 1960′s shades.

The room where the service was conducted, although tough had an amazing ambience, I love the way this shines out in the photographs. The registrars were great on the day and a far cry from their reputation and indeed the last time had to work with them.

Rob and Sarah had arranged for a guided tour of Avoncroft Museum while we  took some fashion portraits, but still had time to catch up with the end of the tour, its a fascinating place!

The whole day was just fabulous and I even got to stay late and Party with Louise once my photography duty was done!

Well, this is embarrassing! I think Sarah forgot what side of the camera she’s supposed to be on and takes a picture of me with my spare camera :o

They even managed a spot of dog walking.

Rob surprises Sarah and all the quests with a guest slot on bass guitar! Rock ‘n’ Roll!

He rocked it, literally! I love that the bands official bass player is clapping along with Sarah and everyone else.

And then Rob played lead inflatable-guitar with real attitude!

Continuing their tradition breaking they had the last dance of the evening and confetti too.

Caitriona and Anoop and are getting married next year at Tatton Park, so in contrast to their future wedding photography I decided to take them Liverpools waterfront for their engagement shoot.

The weather forecast was against us but it was looking ok so we decided to take our chances, I did however decide on a route more suitable to bad weather – just in case! As luck would have it we didn’t see too much rain but the stormy skies have led to some truly epic images.

As usual, we had good fun on our shoot, so much so Anoop declared, “It was less scary than I expected!” I can’t wait to shoot their Tatton Park wedding next year, its going to be brilliant.

What a dapper wedding Femi and Emma had at the gorgeous Haslington Hall in the heart of Cheshire. Femi and Emma are such an easy going and fun couple it was a real pleasure to photograph their wedding.

I arrived at Haslindgton Hall to find Emma, her mum and friends chilling with champaign whilst getting ready in their suite. The light was just perfect and made for some beautiful getting ready images. Once Emma was in her dress I took a couple of quick portraits of her before heading off to find Femi and their guests.

Femi and Emma had chosen to get married outside (or as outside as marriage is allowed here in the UK) with Femi and his best man were set to arrive on horse back! Its a good job I keep myself fit as keeping up with horses on foot carrying 10kg of camera equipment takes some doing :)

The guests were surprised and delighted to see Femi turn up on horseback, it really did look awesome. Everyone then waited with anticipation for Emmas arrival and they were wowed again.

The ceremony was taken by Crewe’s fantastic registrars who are very photography friendly so I was able to capture their wedding beautifully.

The weather really held out for Femi and Emma so after the marriage them and their guests were able to mill around in Haslington Hall’s super grounds.

It was soon time for the wedding breakfast which was promptly followed by a set of lovely heartfelt speeches.

We did have a show of rain later in the day which worked to our advantage as we got the brollies out and took some cool photo’s

On seeing their photos, Femi wrote, “These are amazing! We both can’t stop looking at them. Rest assured if there is anybody we know getting married, we’ll certainly be dropping your name. Thank you very much. The pictures just get better and better (if thats possible) every time we look at them. Meant what I said too, you were the least stressful aspect of the day.” Thanks Femi, glad you love your wedding pictures.

Rob and Sarah are both fantastic wedding photographers and great friends too, so its a real honour to be asked to photograph their engagement and wedding at Avencroft Museum of historic buildings.

We photographers much prefer to be on the other end of the camera so getting the best out of us as models is always a test of ones mettle so I turned the tables on them and had them shoot Lou and I at the same time (you can see one of their pictures of us in the ‘about me’ section of this blog).

This engagement soot was as much a social as it was work which saw us combine great company with our passion for photography and our love of Indian food. It was good to catch up and chill.

I’m really looking forward to blogging their ‘the who’ themed wedding in the coming weeks, its going to quite literally ROCK! In the meantime here are a few of my favourites from the afternoon.

Louise and Craig’s wedding saw me at the Rowton Hall, Cheshire.

I started the day as always with the bride and bridesmaids for Louises’s bridal preparations in rowton Hall before making my way to the downstairs to catch up with Craig before the ceremony.

Once again I would like to give praise to the fantastic registrars we have here in the north West who are very photographer friendly.

After the wedding breakfast and speeches we headed off into the grounds to take a few fashion wedding photographs. It was soon time for their first dance, after which I left them to party with their guests!
