I arrived at the Isla Gladstone conservatory and spent some time capturing Stuart and the guests enjoying the amazing weather we had and readied myself for Hayley’s arrival.

Sarah and Micky had a lovely Liverpool wedding at the very grand St Georges Hall. There had been worries about the weather with all that snow and ice about durring that week but all we ended up with was light rain, not that the weather is any concern when you have such a stunning venue…

Wow, what a venue!
Another great set of photographs Rob, I love the one were they are walking back down the Isle, such a special moment to capture.
Fantastic set of images Rob, what a fabulous venue . Some beautiful images posted here.
The pictures truly capture how happy we were on the day, we can’t stop grinning from ear to ear about how beautiful the venue looks! You were a pleasure to have as our photographer, and we can’t wait to see the rest of them!
A really stunning set of images Rob (to match all the other wonderful galleries I’ve just viewed on your blog). There’s some very clever lighting going on in a lot of these shots – I’d love to know what kit you’re using.
All the best,
David
Thanks Emma, Paul, Sarah and Micky.
David, I use Nikon kit, the lighting is SB800/900 speedlights and su800 wireless commanders. The Canon speedlights and ST-E2 Remote Transmitter would work just as well if you shoot Canon.
Thanks for the rapid response Rob. Are you using any light modifiers? Brollies, softboxes or snoots? Your lighting is often very soft but quite directional.
Yours,
David
Hi David, it varies depending on the situation/ambient light. I have shoot through brollies, softbox brollies and reflective brollies. I also use snoots, stofen cups and bounce cards. I’m not averse to using bare heads as required.
You’re clearly a man who’s done his lighting homework Rob. It really stood out when I looked through your images – keep up the great work!
A grand wedding indeed!! looks like a great day
(wonderful lighting too)

Hi Rob just googled St Georges wedding and what did I find!
Had an invite for a wedding worskshop here in Sept – looks amazing venue and your images do it proud justice – reckon I should go!
Hey sandy, St Georges Hall is a stunning wedding venue and the staff are really helpful to photographers. As for the workshop, a fantastic venue doesn’t automatically make a great workshop that would depend entirely on the photographer running it. I would take a great photographer in a shabby venue over an average photographer in great venue any day.

Alnwick gardens is a wonderful place for a photographer, lots of light and countless cool places for photographs that change every week. It is however still open to the public so photographing there isn’t a walk in the park even though it is actually a park.

Over the moon is an understatement, LOVE the sneaky peek of Karls pink socks too. Cannot wait for the rest! Karl & Sab xx
Sabbah is gorgeous. And these pictures are lovely – the second to last, with all the rustic wood and the sparkly lights behind her… perfect. Looking forward to seeing more!

I’ve been excited about photographing this wedding at the Crowne Plaza in Speke, its a building that’s always caught my attention because of its 1920′s architecture and of course the classic airplane out front since my move to Liverpool last year. I was delighted to see the inside continues the 1920′s styling.
